Down Dog.
Last week my spin teacher encouraged me to take a yoga/Pilates class, so I did. I will admit that I didn't enjoy it very much. I found that I was very uncomfortable doing many of the moves. I don't know if it was because I wasn't flexible, or if it was because I had a lack of confidence. Regardless, I found it very challenging. I'm very stubborn. I went back to the class today and decided to give it a second try. This time, I decided to really make an effort and I was very surprised that I could do many of the moves that I thought I couldn't do the previous week. Clearly, my fitness had not improved significantly in just 7 days. It was my attitude towards the class and my ability to have more confidence in myself.

Last week I couldn't do the down dog. This week, while I didn't do it perfectly, I did it and that's all that matters. Next time I'll get even better, stronger, more confident. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you free your mind to accept it. Progress. It's a beautiful thing :)
